About Goddess Freya
Goddess of love, compassion, beauty and fertlity, Freya is one of the best known and most favored of all the Goddesses.
Daughter of the god, Njored of Norse paganism, and called upon in matters of love, magic, fertility and war.
Loved for her fiery passion and extreme beauty, Freya was loved by men, giants and dwarfs. Legends tell of Freya’s acquiring the enchanting Brisings necklace in exchange for sex with four dwarfs. After discovering the hidden mysteries behind the necklace, Frey then weilded the magic of the Brisings necklace to further her causes in love, war and death.
Today, followers of the Freyan Order use sensuality and passion in their artistic and creative ventures channeling the fiery passion of the Goddess into arts of all types, traditional Freyan ceremonies and rituals for love, fertility, war and death. Like other pagan orders, the Freyan Order embraces human nature as part of nature; creative and destructive. Fiery as well as gentle. Spiritual and mundane.
